down by 2-0 at first
at end of half score was 1-2
then kailun scored a penalty and huanmin ( i think ) scored off a shot deflected away by the aj keeper..

some thoughts on the hc-sa a div guys finals and the rj-aj 3rd-4th girls placing..

the girls didnt play well at first in the first half.. but then they had a monster 3rd quarter and sa couldnt catch up fast enough.. 44-42 i think the score was.. the angela show was running again... think she scored 1/3rd of rj's points and grabbed 1/2 of rj's rebounds..

hc-sa.. thought hc would win.. and they did. changlu you owe me a drink~
sa isnt as good as they were last year and hc is bolstered by the return of one of its players from a broken leg.
but it was a fantastic match. as usual the atmosphere was electrifying the sa and hc supporters cheering like crazy.. id like to play on a big stage like that one day.. where heroes and villians are made..
hc no.9, no.8 and no.4 won the game for them i think 9 had some good fast breaks.
sa as a whole didnt play very well except for in the 1st quarter where they led 21-11.
sa no.15 dominated the first quarter.. turn n shoot turn n shoot no wonder he's a combvined sch center.. he scored 8 straight points against us in the last quarter of our game which killed us.. we were tied before that... now thats star quality.
second quarter hc started to catch up until they were down by 7..5... pts...
then the 3rd quarter explosion came hc snatched the lead by 1 and the lead seesawed back and forth for a while.
the turning point : 3 straight turnovers by SA, all successfully converted into points by hc. think sa sort of lost concentration there or panicked or sth. their coach called timeout after that. about time.
after tt sa tried to pull level but just couldnt get the win despite some nice pieces of bball.
final score was 65-59 or 65-60 to hc. great game for the audience. no.4 and 9 really stepped it up in the last qtr. oh and sa no.15 the combined sch centre fouled out in the 4th with a stupid foul on defense for a fast break. actually it was 50-50 for the ref but the tide was against sa by then. he should have either not fouled or fouled so hard that the fastbreaker had no chance of making the shot, not a guniang foul which got whistled and let the person score for a 3 - point play... that was his only mistake of the game i think but a costly one.

highlights : lots of high flying layups, sa no 6 and 8 cutting their way thru the entire hc defence in the 1st qtr..
hc no.9 fast breaks.. incredible
sa no.6's 3-pointer in the last qtr.. his shot was fluid and as smooth as artic ice (sorry slam)
sa no.8 had a layup on the break over hc no.10 who just stood there like an idiot and even bent over when the no.8 layuped over him. wonderful stuff. by the way sa no.8 was a foward and like 20cm shorter than the hc no. 10 centre. feel the shame.

kirk hinrich is "[v]ery competitive" and "[n]eeds to develop aggresiveness", also is a "[s]uperb defender" and "makes bad decisions on defence" CRAP.
and there are many better players out there than some of those listed in the top 8..
i got no prob with lebron and carmelo anthony and milicic but the rest.. im not so sure..
what about ndudi ebi? charlie villanueva? sebastian telfair?
new paper's getting more and more lousy.. first they rarely report on bball.. when they do they come out with rubbish like this.

oh and lebron james just signed a us$100mil contract with nike for 7 year's worth of advertising. he's a very rich 18 year old now.

new thoughts on the hc match after listening to wad jiunhaur had to say
we lost by 12 even though our first team wasnt playing very well and so on.. and we missed 20 free throws which really killed us.
not saying that hc didnt deserve to win just saying that on our day we can beat anybody. but hc was real good.~
looking back now i see that we've really come a long way since like a year ago and the days when we used to go tor i and play with the old boys.. now we're old boys ourselves. those who watched us play/played with us then said tt we're a different team now.. its a long road behind and ahead of us i see.

gonna have a sort of farewell bbq at gabriel's place tonight.. its been great with you guys.
some of us will be playing in the gryphon cup though, but its not the same as the actual a div competition.

now that bball is over.. yup...
took photos after pj match and listened to all our last words in the last day of our a division bball careers.
feel pround that we made it so far but at the same time a bit shi1 luo4 in that we could have gone further if not for a lot of stuff.. but if not on hindsight is no use..~ wondering if i had done some things differently done more of this or less of that when i was on court and off court, we could have gone further? guess id never know.

girls beat hc their strongest opponenent by over 10 points.. looks like the girls are champions again this year...
